While I’m not entirely thrilled summer is over and the cold weather is on its way, I am pretty pumped fall fashion and makeup is back. I have always loved dressing in warm, comfy sweaters and sexy, knee-high boots, and while I swore I would never sport deep lipsticks after my brief love affair with them in the late 90s, I am the first to admit the whole vampy makeup look everyone is wearing has really been grabbing my attention.
I don’t know if it’s the flawless foundation, deep eyeshadows, perfect contour, vampy lips, or a combination of all 4, but I am really digging the new fall makeup trends I’m seeing online, and can’t wait to get my hands on some new products so I can try them all out.
But first thing’s first: I need to learn the techniques.
As always, I turned to some of my favorite makeup artists, and I know you’re going to find the tutorials I’m about to share to be both gorgeous and inspiring. I’m particularly in love with Jaclyn Hill’s look as it’s intense and sexy and the exact kind of thing I love this time of year!
1. Kylie Jenner Inspired Fall Makeup Look by Nicole Guerriero
You don’t need to be a Kylie Jenner fan to love this look. Trust me! What I like most about this tutorial (besides the beautiful eyeshadows and fabulous contouring) is that Nicole shows how the finished product looks with both nude and vampy lips, and that she mixed THREE lipglosses together to match the shade she was after. I never would have thought to do that!
2. Purple Smoke Dramatic FALL Makeup Tutorial by Carly Bybel
I was a little skeptical when I first started watching this tutorial, but I really love the purple and gold combo Carli creates on her eyes using the BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette. This is the perfect look for a big night out with your special someone, but if you need to be more subtle, you can simply opt for a lighter lip color.
3. Cat Eye & Vampy Lips by Jaclyn Hill
Admittedly, the eyeliner in this look is a BIT much for me, but I love everything else about Jaclyn’s fall style. I was particularly intrigued with the Laura Mercier Transluscent Powder she uses to achieve a more structured contour. I had never heard of this technique until watching this tutorial, and it has gone a LONG way in helping me clean up my contouring routine!
4. Vampy Fall Makeup Tutorial by Makeup Geek
I find a lot of vampy looks work well for a night out, but if you want something that’s also appropriate for the day, this tutorial is for you. The eyeshadow and liner isn’t too dark or dramatic, and by choosing your lipstick wisely (light for day, dark for night), this look will last all day.
5. Vampy Chic Makeup Tutorial by Nicole Guerriero
If you have a night out planned and want something quick, chic, and sexy, this look is for you! I especially love the lip color, which is another Anastasia Beverly Hills lipgloss combo!
