Nutella Crescent Rolls & Baguettes
Before you forget about those dinner rolls, I want to show you what else you can do with that soft and fluffy dough. Remember when I was making the video? And for those who haven’t watched the video for dinner rolls, please go ahead and watch it because I’m not making the dough this time. It’s already made.

Why You’ll Love This

I made crescent rolls with Nutella and they turned out so, so good. Kids finish them like within 30 minutes. And what I liked about these crescent rolls, they, I don’t want to call them croissants because croissants are pretty greasy and very buttery. These are more lighter, more bread kind of crescent rolls. It’s crispy. It’s not buttery, greasy. It’s really light and very chocolatey. It’s even better when they’re cold. He liked it. It means it’s good.
Ingredients

- Pre-made dough (from dinner rolls)
- Nutella (or any favorite chocolate spread or jam, apricot jam will be great)
- Flour (for dusting)
- Egg wash (optional)
Instructions

- Divide the dough into six portions.
- Roll three portions out into even sized circles, about 10 inches wide, as thin as you can.
- Spread a very thin layer of Nutella on the first circle, leaving a little edge on the sides.
- Place the second circle on top and spread more Nutella.
- Place the third circle on top. Do not spread Nutella on the third layer.
- Ensure the bottom layer has enough flour to take it out easily.
- Cut the stacked circles into wedges to form crescent roll shapes.
- For Nutella baguettes: Spread some Nutella on a rolled-out portion of dough.
- Roll the dough with Nutella, lightly sealing the edges.
- Place the rolled dough on your baking tray.
- With a sharp knife, make a couple of slashes on top.
- For a circular bread: Cut a portion of dough in the center and roll it into a circle. Place this on the bottom.
- Line your baking pan with parchment or foil.
- Place the formed crescent rolls and baguettes on the prepared baking pan.
- Let them rest and rise another 20-25 minutes in a warm place.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Optionally, egg wash half of the crescent rolls.
- Bake the crescent rolls until they’re done.
- For the baguette-style bread, bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cooking Tips
- You may need to use flour because this dough is very tender, very soft.
- Try also not to torture the dough too much.
- Be sure that the bottom layer has enough flour.
- It’s a good idea to put them in somewhere warm.
- You really need a very sharp knife for slashing the baguettes.
- Wipe it as you cut, so everything is nice and neat.
- Do the egg wash lightly and gently.
- No Nutella on third layer.
Serving Suggestions
It’s even better when they’re cold.
