Buttermilk Cinnamon Bread
My name is Teresa and today we’re going to be making buttermilk cinnamon bread. And this recipe will make two loaves. Now, this is not my recipe.

Why You’ll Love This
It’s the best cinnamon bread I’ve tasted.
I don’t know about you, but like you get them in a store and you always wish there was more cinnamon and more sugar on the bread.
And this is really good.
This freezes really well too.

Ingredients
For the Bread:
- four cups of flour
- two teaspoons of baking soda
- a little bit of salt
- a half a cup of vegetable oil or canola oil
- one and a half cups of granulated sugar
- two cups of buttermilk
- two eggs
- vegetable shortening (for greasing pans)
To make homemade buttermilk:
- two cups of milk
- two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
For the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture:
- one cup of granulated sugar
- a tablespoon of cinnamon

Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350.
- Put vegetable shortening and grease the pans well.
- In a large bowl, put four cups of flour.
- To that, put two teaspoons of baking soda and a little bit of salt.
- Combine that.
- In a smaller bowl, combine a half a cup of vegetable oil or canola oil.
- And one and a half cups of granulated sugar.
- We’re gonna combine that now.
- To that, add two cups of buttermilk.
- Also two eggs we’re gonna add to that also.
- Mix this until it’s mixed very well.
- Add the liquid to the dry now.
- Stir this just until it’s moistened.
- Fill each pan that’s been greased down 1/3 full of the batter.
- In another bowl, put one cup of granulated sugar and a tablespoon of cinnamon.
- Mix that up really well.
- Use half of this first.
- Take that half and put half of that in here and half of that on the other bread pan.
- Sprinkle it over the top of the batter in each one.
- Top the two pans with the remaining batter.
- Put it towards the middle.
- Try not to stir up the mixture, the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- With the remaining cinnamon sugar, divide that evenly over the tops of this.
- Take a knife and swirl it through.
- Go in.
- Then go back and swirl it this way.
- Put this in the oven.
- Bake it for 45 to 55 minutes.
- Or until the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Pull them out of the oven.
- Let them set in the pans and first cool in the pans for 10 minutes.
- Let them cool the rest of the way on a wire rack.
- Let them cool for 10 minutes more to cool the rest of the way.

Cooking Tips
You can make buttermilk by adding a tablespoon of vinegar to each cup of milk.
It works just as well as the regular buttermilk. It doesn’t taste any different to me.
Usually what I do is I give the bigger, nicer one out as the present.
Try not to hit the bottom of the pan.
Serving Suggestions
This is for breakfast.
If you’re making a gift basket, a bunch of different breads would be really nice in it.
Okay, there’s the buttermilk cinnamon bread. Bye!
