Ingredients

Okay guys here are the ingredients needed for the ground turkey sweet potato skillet.
- black pepper
- ground cumin
- chili powder
- paprika
- dried thyme leaf
- sea salt
- olive oil
- baby spinach
- a red bell pepper
- sweet onion
- garlic
- sweet potatoes
- parsley
- a secret ingredient
For the exact measurement ingredients you’ll need:
- one pound of ground turkey
- a half teaspoon of sea salt
- a quarter teaspoon of black pepper
- a half teaspoon of chili powder
- a half teaspoon of ground cumin
- one teaspoon of paprika
- a half teaspoon of dried thyme leaf
- two tablespoons of olive oil equally divided
- two garlic cloves minced
- two medium sweet potatoes diced
- one and a half cups of baby spinach
- one medium sweet onion diced
- one medium red bell pepper diced
- a quarter cup of the secret ingredient low sodium chicken broth
- parsley to garnish
Instructions

- Okay guys in the first step add the first half of olive oil to a skillet over a medium high heat then add the sweet potatoes.
- Toss well until all of the potatoes are evenly coated.
- Cook until they become soft and tender but not too soft to where they break and intermittently throughout the cooking process move them around to prevent them from burning.
- To check to see if the potatoes are done stick a toothpick or fork through the center.
- If it penetrates easily then the sweet potatoes are done.
- Lastly transfer the potatoes onto a plate and set them aside for later.
- In the next step add the second half of olive oil to the same skillet over the same medium high heat then add the sweet onion, red bell pepper, and minced garlic.
- Mix these ingredients together until they’re incorporated.
- Allow the vegetables to cook until they become softened and you can smell the aromatics from the garlic.
- Then add the ground turkey and use a spatula to slightly break down the meat before adding half of the sea salt and half of the black pepper.
- Then use a fork to continue to break down the meat and incorporate the seasonings into the other ingredients and allow the meat to cook until it becomes browned.
- Then use a paper towel to absorb any of the residual liquid that may be left at the bottom of the skillet.
- Place the potatoes back into the skillet along with the other ingredients and begin seasoning with the remaining sea salt, the remaining black pepper, paprika, dry thyme leaves, ground cumin, and chili powder.
- Use the spatula to incorporate these seasonings into the ground meat and evenly coat all of the sweet potatoes.
- Then add the secret ingredient low sodium chicken broth and baby spinach.
- Fold the baby spinach and chicken broth into the other ingredients.
- Allow the spinach to cook until it has become completely wilted.
- Then garnish with as much or as little fresh parsley as you would prefer.
Cooking Tips
