Now if you grew up anything like me when you ask for steak you sure didn’t get no t-bone you got this hamburger steak. The onions give these babies a really really much better flavor along with that garlic. What we want to do is we want to make sure these patties absorb all of that gravy that’s exactly what you want that’s what makes this recipe awesome awesome awesome.

Ingredients
- a pound and a half of ground beef
- two cups of mushrooms
- one cup of beef broth
- one cup of water
- a medium onion chop
- one cup of flour
- one large egg
- three tablespoons of olive oil
- a fourth of a cup of panko bread
- another fourth of a cup of flour
- a fourth of a teaspoon of pepper
- a fourth of a teaspoon of seasoned salt
- half a tablespoon of w sauce
- one tablespoon of gravy master
- six slices of bacon (cooked and chopped)
- one teaspoon of garlic powder
- another teaspoon of seasoned salt
- a half a teaspoon of black pepper
- a couple of cloves of garlic (fresh, chopped)
- a tablespoon of water

Instructions
- To get started we’re going to start with our steak.
- Add our bread crumbs.
- Come behind that with our garlic powder, our pepper, our seasoned salt.
- Followed with our bacon and our onions and let’s not forget our eggs.
- Go in this with our hands and we’re going to get everything mixed in properly.
- Chop up a couple of cloves of fresh garlic and get that mixed in here.
- Start forming our patty.
- Take equal portions, you can probably get four to six patties out of this.
- Form this humongous patty.
- Set that aside and do another one just like that.
- Set that aside.
- Get our last one here.
- Take each one of those patties and in that cup of flour we’re going to dip that patty in that flour like this.
- Get it covered in there.
- Sit it right here and we’re going to do all four the same way.
- Kind of throw it back and forth like that just to kind of remove some of the excess flour.
- Move over to our cooktop.
- Add our three tablespoons of olive oil and we’re going to bring that up to temperature.
- Start cooking our patties.
- Add one patty at a time.
- Cook them till they’re brown on both sides.
- Remove this from our pan, just add it here to this dish and we’re going to set it aside in a warmer while we finish cooking the other patties.
- Keep our pan with all of the oil and the juice from the burgers and we’re just going to unpause our heat.
- Go in with our onions with a tablespoon of water and we’re going to get these mixed around over this medium heat until they’re caramelized.
- While our onions are caramelizing, start to add the remaining of our ingredients together and get it mixed up.
- Add our beef broth, the remaining of our water, our worcestershire sauce or w sauce what i like to call it, and our gravy master.
- Add our seasoned salt and pepper and our 1/4 cup of flour and we’re going to go ahead and get this mixed up.
- Head back over to our cooktop where our onions are.
- Take that mix created and we’re going to pour it in here with the onions.
- Stir this or cook it until this mixture thickens up over a medium heat.
- Bring it to a slight simmer so we can get it cooking and then we’re going to reduce the heat.
- Once it’s on a slight simmer, start adding our patties back into the mix.
- Add all their little driplings.
- Flip them a few times right now to kind of make sure because what we want to do is we want to make sure these patties absorb all of that gravy.
- Flip them over, let it sit on that side for a minute.
- Flip them back over.
- Add our mushrooms here over the top and we’re going to reduce our heat to low.
- Cover this baby up and we’re going to cook it for 20 minutes.
- Make sure in between those 20 minutes you’re flipping your hamburger steaks over every five minutes.
- After the first five minutes, flip these babies over.
- After 20 minutes, turn off our cooktop.
- Transfer this over to our cutting board.
- Get these babies plated up.

Cooking Tips
You want these to be pretty thick patties you don’t want them a real thin like you’re making a hamburger. If you don’t like onions you don’t have to use onions but i like onions. If you want to season your flour you can. I typically don’t season my flour when i cook hamburger steak this way. You want to cook them till they’re brown on both sides. The key to this is continuing to flip them over that way that your hamburger states it absorbs all of this gravy.
Serving Suggestions
We always add some of that mashed potatoes with it or you can add some rice if you want to.
This brings back memories. I tell you this right here it’s good a fulfilling um meal so until then i’m your cook and remember i ain’t no chef well you know what making this made me feel like a southern chef but still i ain’t no chef i just cook a lot.
