Ingredients

Ingredients for Ground Beef Broccoli Stir Fry

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • soy sauce
  • honey
  • rice wine vinegar
  • grated ginger
  • red chili flakes

For the Slurry:

  • corn starch
  • two tablespoons of water

For the Stir Fry:

  • broccoli
  • ground beef
  • diced red and yellow bell peppers
  • olive oil
  • diced onions
  • salt
  • pepper
  • chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup of water

For Garnish:

  • sesame seeds

Instructions

Step by step instructions for Ground Beef Broccoli Stir Fry

  1. Take this clean bowl, add our soy sauce here, our honey, rice wine vinegar, our grated ginger, and our red chili flakes.
  2. And we’re just gonna give that a mix.
  3. Put this aside.
  4. Bring over our corn starch.
  5. Take two tablespoons of water, add it to our bowl with our corn starch, and we’re gonna mix this up to make our slurry.
  6. Over medium heat, we’re gonna add our olive oil.
  7. As that oil heats up, we’re gonna add our onions and our bell peppers.
  8. And we’re gonna cook these for about three to four minutes until they soften.
  9. Go in with your ground beef.
  10. Cook this for the next five to seven minutes.
  11. Breaking it up as you cook it.
  12. Hit that with a little salt and a little pepper.
  13. Add our chopped garlic.
  14. After that 45 seconds, we’re gonna add our broccoli florets here.
  15. We’re gonna get this mixed in.
  16. We’re gonna add about 1/4 cup of water.
  17. Take a lid and cover this up with a lid and let it steam for about four to five minutes.
  18. Remove our lid.
  19. Pour it over the top just like this.
  20. Stir everything together.
  21. Drop our heat down to low.
  22. Let this simmer for about two to three minutes.
  23. Add our slurry.
  24. Give it a quick mix before you add it.
  25. Mix it real quick.
  26. Let this simmer for another two minutes.
  27. Give this a quick stir.
  28. Turn our heat off.
  29. Remove it from our cooktop over to our cutting board.
  30. Let this sit for about two minutes to let that sauce settle and thicken up.
  31. Add a few sesame seeds here to the top.

Cooking Tips

  • Take the stem off of it, that big thick stem, take that off of it, you just want the florets.
  • You wanna give your honey garlic sauce a quick mix.
