Ingredients

  • a pound of ground beef
  • about half a teaspoon of salt
  • about a quarter teaspoon of onion powder
  • pepper
  • Three quarters of a teaspoon to a teaspoon of cumin
  • about a teaspoon of paprika, or just a tad more
  • about a tablespoon of chili powder
  • about half a cup of water

Instructions

  1. You want to make sure the pan is hot before you do this.
  2. get that all nicely mixed up.
  3. While cooking your meat and it starts to cook, always keep chopping it into small pieces so you have that nice taco meat.
  4. we’re going to go ahead and add about half a teaspoon of salt.
  5. We can go ahead and start adding some of our spices here.
  6. I add about a quarter teaspoon of onion powder.
  7. I add pepper.
  8. Three quarters of a teaspoon to a teaspoon of cumin.
  9. add about a teaspoon of paprika, or just a tad more.
  10. add about a tablespoon of chili powder.
  11. get that all mixed together.
  12. get it chopped up just a little bit more here.
  13. we want to just keep chopping and getting into small pieces.
  14. Just let it cook for like another minute on this side here.
  15. I like to add maybe about half a cup of water.

Cooking Tips

You don’t want to put meat into a cold pan. It just cooks really bad. And it has a weird flavor to it. It doesn’t really cook right. The beauty of getting it in a hot pan is you kind of get a little sear on it. So you’re adding a lot of nice flavors to it as well.

If you like it really hot, you can add more.

I like to get a little bit of darkness on here.

I like to let it kind of marinate a little bit.
