These days I’m finding it increasingly more difficult to get out of bed when my daughter starts begging me to make blueberry waffles each morning, and even though we wake up 2 and a half hours before we need to leave the house, we’re almost always late for school drop-off.
And I’m 100% to blame.
I just can’t seem to get myself together enough to focus on being efficient, and by the time I hit the shower, I have next to no time to make myself look presentable, and I’m often horrified at the reflection that stares back at me in the rearview mirror of our car.
Now, one thing you must know about me is that I’m not really one to wallow in self-pity. Actually, that’s not entirely true. I do have a tendency to feel sorry for myself, but it doesn’t take long for me to get sick and tired of the sound of my whines and moans, and after a few days, I always try to find ways to make things better.
Which brings me to the point of this post.
I’ve been battling a head cold this week, and I’ve been particularly horrified at how awful I look – pale skin, glassy eyes, dark under eye circles – but rather than sitting here feeling sorry for myself all day, I spent the morning on YouTube finding ways I can put a better foot forward tomorrow.
I clearly need to spend more time in the makeup department to freshen up my face, so I’m going to skip the shampoo and try one of these fabulous and easy hairstyles in under 5 minutes I found.
I’m leaning toward the Brigitte Bardot look by Luxy Hair, but I really love the double braided hairstyle by Aspyn Ovard as well. I’m sure at some point I’ll give all of these everyday hairstyles for long hair a shot.
Decisions, decisions!
3 Running Late Hairstyles by Luxy Hair
It’s no secret that I love Mimi and all of the amazing hairstyles she shares, and these running late ideas are no exception. As I already mentioned, I particularly love the Brigitte Bardot-inspired look as it’s an easy way to add a little class to your locks when you have next to no time to get ready in the morning, but I also love her side bun as it’s the perfect combination of chic and messy!
If you’re looking for lazy girl hairstyles these options will get you out the door fast. You hardly need any tools–bobby pins, ponytail elastics and a hair donut. Even with a head cold and running late, I can handle these easy 5 minute hairstyles (especially if all it requires is an elastic and some bobby pins)!
4 Easy 5-Minute Hairstyles by Aspyn Ovard
Before we go into reviewing these everyday hairstyles for long hair, can we talk for just a sec about those layered silver necklaces she’s wearing in the video? I honestly think they make her look so polished too. Between the necklaces and the hairstyle, she looks like she’s ready to go anywhere–proof that these easy hairstyles for long hair can make you look polished in no time.
She uses a Nume curling wand with a 32mm titanium barrel to start, but any curling wand will do. To hold everything in place she’s using Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Hair Spray, which works great. She’s able to get all these lazy girl hairstyles together in a matter of five minutes or less (even the more complicated ones).
These everyday hairstyles for long hair definitely take a little bit of practice, but once you have them down, they are a great way to add a bit of style to your look when you’re running late. I particularly love the doubled braided hairstyle as I think it’s a cute way to dress up the otherwise boring side braid I tend to default to when I’m in a rush!
3 Easy 5-Minute Hairstyles by Missy Sue
These looks are a little more classy, and I think they make the perfect hairstyles for work. A couple of cute hair accessories and/or face-framing curls can add a bit more personality and style, or you can opt for a more sleek finish if you’re looking something more conservative. Either way, I’m adding these looks to my weekly rotation!
I love how practical she is with these styles. She’s right–a messy bun is just one of those everyday hairstyles for long hair, you can use as a default go-to hairstyle. Using dry shampoo, tucking in the loose ends and taking, literally 30 seconds to slick down the styles with a spritz of hairspray makes ALL the difference. None of these styles look like a lazy girl hairstyle either–no one will believe you only spent two minutes getting out the door.
